Terms & Conditions

By entering you agree to these terms and conditions. Information on how to enter forms part of these terms and conditions. 

1. This promotion is run by Upper Hutt City Council (UHCC). 

2. Entry is limited to people residing in New Zealand and aged 16 years or older at the time of entry. 

3. To be eligible to win, each entrant must make a purchase from a participating retailer, provide full and correct information on the electronic entry form (accessed via QR code), and answer the skill question. Only complete entries will be eligible. 

4. Only one entry per transaction. 

5. Three winning entries will be drawn at the conclusion of the campaign. 

6. The winners, of which there will three, will each receive vouchers to the minimum value of $1000.00.  

7. The prizes are made up of vouchers from the participating retailers. While every effort has been made to balance the prize values and distribution across the participating retailers, there will be variances across the individual prizes.

8. Promotion commences at 10.00 AM on Friday 14 November 2025. Entries close at 10.00am on Tuesday 16 December 2025, before the busy Christmas period. 

9. The winners will be drawn at random under Police supervision on Wednesday 17 December 2025. UHCC’s determinations in relation to this contest will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.  

10. The prize winners will be contacted by the email or phone number supplied with their entry. Winners must collect the prize in person and provide photo ID with a full name that matches the winning entry and show proof of purchase that matches the details on their entry form. This can be in the form of a receipt or evidence of a bank transfer with details matching that of the entry form. 

11. Prizes are not transferable and will NOT be shipped to recipients or be exchangeable for cash. 

12. The winners take their prize(s) entirely at their own risk and indemnifies UHCC in respect of any claim in connection with the prize. 

13. The winners must respond within 3 days of the notification being sent to claim their prize otherwise the prize will be forfeited. 

14. If the prize winners cannot be contacted within 3 working days of the prize draw, the prize will be forfeit and no compensation will be payable. UHCC reserves the right to redraw the winner of that prize.  

15. UHCC may, acting reasonably, amend, vary, extend, or cancel the promotion at any stage by publishing notice of such cancellation on its website. 

16. Exclusions: Council staff from Communications and Engagement and Economic Development teams cannot enter the competition. 

17. UHCC will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or sustained as a consequence of participation in the promotion or as a consequence of the use and enjoyment of the prize.

18. UHCC reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who UHCC determines, on reasonable grounds, has violated these terms and conditions or otherwise gained any unfair advantage in participating or won using fraudulent means. 

19. Personal information collected by UHCC and its agents in the course of running this promotion will be kept and used in accordance with our Privacy Statement. 

20. This promotion is not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with, Facebook or Instagram. By participating in this promotion, you agree to a complete release of Facebook and/or Instagram from any claims.

ENTRY FORM AND PROCESS AND ANNOUNCEMENT OF WINNERS:   

The competition entry form requires your full name, email address or phone number, so we can notify you should you win and for statistical purposes. The winner will NOT be notified through social media channels but notified through email or phone.  

At the conclusion of the competition the database of information will be held only by the Upper Hutt City Council.
